Established in 1966, the Bedford Stuyvestant Early Childhood Development Center is a community-based organization that works for meeting the educational, nutritional, social, and medical and mental health care needs of children and families. It offers the Home Instructional Program for Preschool Youngsters (H.I.P.P.Y). The Bedford Stuyvestant Early Childhood Development Center s educational programs focus on the development of language, literacy, mathematics, science, creative arts, physical health, social and emotional skills in its students. It conducts cardiopulmonary resuscitation, first-aid and fire training sessions, as well as health screenings and emergency evacuation projects. Additionally, the center offers nutritional counseling services, as well as conducts asthma awareness and management seminars.
